SUMMARY:Metascience 2025 Conference
DESCRIPTION:A global gathering for knowledge sharing\, community building\, and opportunities to define a roadmap of research and intervention priorities to accelerate science. \nMany scholarly fields conduct descriptive research about the research process. Advocates and reformers have prescriptive ideas about how the research process might be improved. Policymakers\, funders\, publishers\, and other stakeholders enact changes to the social and technical infrastructure of research. All have an interest in whether changes and reforms have their intended effects or unintended consequences that might accelerate or inhibit advancement\, translation\, and application of research. Together\, these researchers and stakeholders are the research and development pipeline for improving the system and practice of research. The Metascience 2025 Conference will bring these communities together to share ideas\, evidence\, and foster a culture of continuous experimentation and improvement. \nRead more HERE.

SUMMARY:LIBER’s Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:LIBER’s Annual Conference is one of the most important gatherings for research library professionals in Europe. \nIt has been a main LIBER activity for over 40 years and has continually grown in size and scope. Each year\, around 300-400 delegates spend three days networking\, collaborating and learning from one another. \nThrough our keynote speakers and interactive workshops\, delegates have an opportunity to identify the most pressing needs for research libraries and to share information and ideas for addressing those needs.

SUMMARY:Staffweek TU Delft
DESCRIPTION:The TU Delft Library is excited to host its next international staff week from July 7 – July 11 2025. This event primarily targets Library staff from partner and non-partner universities from across Europe. \nThe program will be centred around the digital transformation of the library’s services and its impact on HR management\, Open Science & Open Education\, emerging roles in academia such as data stewards and research software engineers\, as well as collaboration with ICT services\, among other topics. Additionally\, we will delve into the concept “rethinking library services\,” relating it to the overarching idea of what the university Library of the future embodies. \nGiven that we\, along with our fellow librarians\, are in the process of reinventing ourselves\, we understand the significance of adapting to new paradigms. \nThis is a unique opportunity to share expertise\, network\, and explore innovative practices in the field of library and information sciences. \nInterested? Apply before the 24th of March 2025. Selected participants will be notified by the 4th of April 2025 at the latest. Spaces are limited\, so don’t miss out! \nhttp://staffmobility.eu/staffweek/staffweek-tu-delft-july-7-july-11-2025

SUMMARY:Examining Reproducibility in European Science\, seminar by Nicholas J. DeVito
DESCRIPTION:About the Event: \nReproducibility is crucial to the progress and impact of Research and Innovation (R&I) as it confirms or corrects the outcomes of single studies\, resulting in higher quality research\, more reliable and implementable outcomes\, and a reduction of research costs. OSIRIS (Open Science to Increase Reproducibility in Science) is one of three EU funded consortia studying reproducibility in Europe. It aims to facilitate this shift by systematically gathering knowledge on the underlying drivers\, testing effective evidence-based solutions\, identifying incentives for reproducibility by stakeholders\, and embedding reproducibility in research design. This talk examines the work done by OSIRIS to date to understand what reproducibility means across contexts\, what evidence exists to improve it\, and how we are working to generate new evidence in the field. \nAbout the Speaker: \nNicholas J. DeVito\, MPH\, DPhil \nNick is a postgraduate researcher at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences\, University of Oxford. He leads all research integrity work at the Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science including the influential TrialsTracker project and as a member of the OSIRIS Consortium. His research focuses on using mixed-methods approaches to understand how governments and institutions can support and promote more rigorous\, transparent\, and reproducible research. In addition to his funding from the EU\, he currently also receives funding from UKRI for metascience work and supports the OpenSAFELY project at the Bennett Institute. \nFind more here: https://mailchi.mp/consilium-scientific/ykdsdr6f5a
