The objective of LORIER is to encourage the development of a common culture of ethical and responsible research in order to go further in the respect of ethics and professional integrity, to improve the responsibility, transparency, reproducibility and quality of our research.” LORIER is Philippe Ravaud and co-directed by Ghislaine Filliatreau. LORIER is organized into different “working groups” and “scientific animation groups”. OSIRIS will be linked to the reproducibility and meta-research scientific animation groups.

Florian Naudet

Although my initial background is clinical medicine (psychiatry and therapeutics), I have developed extensive competences in “meta-research” through research fellowships at Stanford University and by working with some of the most prominent scientists in this field (John Ioannidis and David Moher). I develop and communicate a bird's-eye view on therapeutic evaluation and Evidence-Based Medicine. Evidence-based medicine is an approach to medical practice that is intended to optimize decision-making by using the best available evidence. My research and my reading have led me to think that Evidence-Based Medicine and more generally science may have evolved into something different from what they were originally intended to be, with a waste of research efforts resulting from suboptimal research questions and study designs. In my earlier work, I have highlighted some of these problems. I subsequently developed expertise in the field of reproducibility and data-sharing. I now have 4 years’ experience of leadership as a PI in the project Reproducibility in Therapeutic Research (ReITheR – reference number ANR-17-CE-36-0010-01). Now, by co-leading WP3 of OSIRIS with Philippe Ravaud, I propose to go further, to develop, implement and test solutions using a meta-research approach.

Constant Vinatier

At the end of his initial training as pharmacist -and after an internship as a clinical research associate- Constant decided to specialize in methodology and biostatistics. He has worked now on vibration of effects in network meta-analyses and he is now developing some meta-research projects as part of WP3 in order to test interventions supposed to improve research reproducibility.
