The OSIRIS project is pleased to introduce Ing. Monika Varga Ph.D. a Senior Researcher at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, MATE, a partner institution of the OSIRIS consortium.

In the multidisciplinary consortium of OSIRIS, MATE represents open science-related specificities in agricultural, food and environmental sciences. Here, the covered fields span from animal physiology & nutrition, agricultural and food engineering, and environmental sciences (soil, water and atmosphere), to computer model-supported process analysis, planning and operation.

Dr. Varga’s skills and expertise as a senior researcher at MATE ranges from Process Modeling, Dynamic Simulation, Methodology and Models to Simulation Modeling. She has specialized in the development and implementation of a non-conventional modeling and simulation methodology (Programmable Process Structures), as well as of the related general problem-solving algorithms for identification, simulation-based control and optimal design of hybrid, multiscale process models. Her fundamental and applied research focuses on the analysis, design, planning and operation of a broad range of process systems (biosystems, technological and biotechnological processes, agrifood process networks, and complex agro-environmental systems).

Dr. Varga and her colleagues at MATE bring a wide range of expertise to the work of the OSIRIS project, especially in the work package on Interventions to improve reproducibility for researchers and institutes (WP3). They also participate in two other research-related WPs,  linking results from/to funders and publishers (WP4) and feeding results to training materials (WP5).

Enjoy Getting to know Ing. Monkia Varga Ph.D.! You can also meet our other Consortium members via the OSIRIS website or Youtube channel!
