Become part of a dynamic network committed to enhancing research transparency and reproducibility through innovative randomized controlled trials. Contribute your expertise, gain valuable training, and help shape the future of Open Science!

The OSIRIS project initiated a network of researchers committed to supporting the implementation of diverse OSIRIS randomized controlled trials. The network’s structure has been formally established and operates under collaboratively developed rules. These rules, outlined in the following paragraph, are designed to ensure transparent and effective coordination across the network. The network comprises all OSIRIS researchers and was officially launched to include external researchers as of January 1, 2025.

Who Can Join?

We welcome a diverse range of participants, including:

  • Researchers, engineers, and research support professionals (e.g., IT specialists, advocates for Research Integrity and Open Science).
  • PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Individuals with experience in conducting and publishing research.

Membership is designed to be inclusive, ensuring broad expertise, with specific project participation based on relevant skills.

What Will Members Do?

Building on a comprehensive scoping review and a large Delphi exercise, OSIRIS has identified Open Science practices that can enhance research reproducibility. The project will test these tools in a series of interventional studies starting early in 2025, specifically:

  • A randomized controlled trial targeting journals to assess methods reproducibility.
  • A randomized controlled trial involving researchers to evaluate methods and computational reproducibility.

For these studies, we aim to recruit at least 50 colleagues to perform reproducibility checks, which may take approximately:

  • 1 hour for methods reproducibility.
  • 1 day for computational reproducibility, depending on dataset complexity.

The number of reproducibility checks is estimated to be between 15 and 30, but this will ultimately depend on the interests of the members and their expected level of involvement in the project. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) will be conducted over the next two years. Additionally, members will receive training to ensure they are well-equipped to contribute effectively. For each study, members will receive specific details, allowing them to assess their level of participation based on the study’s scope and requirements.

How to Join?

Express your interest by signing up via our Google Form and providing details about your background and skills relevant to computational and methods reproducibility.

Why Join?

By participating, you will:

  • Become part of a growing scientific community driving Open Science practices through interventional studies.
  • Receive training in Open Science, computational methods, and reproducibility skills.
  • Gain recognition for your contributions through potential authorship, contributor acknowledgements, or certifications such as Reproducibility Champion.
