Reproducibility is a cornerstone of scientific integrity, yet many proposed interventions aimed at improving it have not been rigorously evaluated. The scoping review, a joint effort between OSIRIS and its sister project TIER2, investigates the scientific evidence behind Open Science interventions and their influence on reproducibility and replicability.

The review aims to identify which interventions have been formally assessed, examine the facilitators and barriers to their implementation, and highlight gaps in the existing evidence—using a broad search strategy, including bibliographic databases, expert consultations, and online sources. The study applies scoping review and evidence gap mapping methodologies to analyse current literature.

One of the key takeaways from the scoping review is that while many transparency-focused practices, such as sharing analysis code and research materials, are widely recommended, their actual impact on reproducibility remains unclear. Additionally, challenges such as time constraints and lack of incentives hinder the widespread adoption of these practices.

The results will be presented in interactive evidence maps and a narrative synthesis to guide future research and policy recommendations.
