The OSIRIS project is proud to lead one of ten selected initiatives at the upcoming Responsible Research in Action (RRiA) Unconference 2025, taking place from 22 to 24 September 2025 in Berlin. This interactive, in-person event is set to bring together researchers, funders, policymakers, and innovators from across disciplines who are ready to improve research culture from the inside out.

Unlike traditional conferences, the RRiA Unconference is designed for active participation. Attendees will join interdisciplinary teams working hands-on to co-create solutions to the most pressing challenges in research practice. From research assessment reform to transparent funding models and open science tools, each project aims to deliver tangible outputs, toolkits, recommendations, and frameworks that can be applied in real-world contexts.

Among the selected projects, OSIRIS is leading RRiA Project 01: “Can a Checklist Improve Science?”, a collaborative pilot focused on improving reproducibility through the development and field-testing of a practical checklist for researchers. This tool, built within the OSIRIS initiative, seeks to support more transparent, trustworthy, and methodologically sound science across disciplines.

Led by OSIRIS experts Rita Banzi and Constant Vinatier, the project invites participants to test the checklist in a real-world collaborative setting, offer critical feedback, and contribute to its refinement for future implementation studies. This is an opportunity to be part of a pioneering community shaping the future of responsible research, whether you’re an early-career researcher or an experienced professional.

The Unconference offers more than project work. Participants will also have access to a keynote lecture, a pre-conference workshop, and valuable networking events, including a welcome reception and dinner. Registration is open now, with reduced rates for students and PhD candidates.

Participation is limited, and project registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. By signing up for a project, you commit to working with that team throughout the event, helping ensure continuity, creativity, and meaningful collaboration.
