Research only creates impact when its findings reach the people who can use them.
That is the mission of Work Package 6 (WP6), which focuses on communication, dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that the results of the OSIRIS project are accessible to researchers, institutions, policymakers, publishers, funders, and the wider research community.
In this edition of the Catch Up with the OSIRIS Work Package Leads series, Hynek Roubík, OSIRIS WP6 Lead, reflects on the achievements of Work Package 6 and highlights how OSIRIS is working to maximise the visibility and impact of its results.

Making Research Visible
As the dissemination and communication work package, WP6 plays a central role in ensuring that the knowledge generated across the project reaches relevant audiences.
The work package supports the communication of findings from all six OSIRIS work packages and helps translate complex research outputs into accessible resources for different stakeholder groups.
This includes:
- News articles and blog posts
- Scientific publications
- Newsletters
- Social media communication
- Policy briefs
- Project resources and guidance materials
The goal is to make evidence-based knowledge available in formats that are useful and accessible to a broad audience.
Delivering Evidence-Based Recommendations
One of the most important outputs highlighted by Hynek Roubík is the OSIRIS policy brief series (available HERE in the Media center of the OSIRIS website – under other documents). These publications transform project findings into practical recommendations for decision-makers and stakeholders across the research ecosystem. They provide recommendations grounded in the evidence generated throughout the project and will address key issues related to research reproducibility and Open Science.
Bringing Research Findings Closer to Stakeholders
A core principle of OSIRIS is that recommendations should be supported by evidence. The project, therefore, combines extensive research activities with targeted communication efforts designed to make findings understandable and actionable.
Scientific outputs are translated into accessible formats through:
- News stories
- Project updates
- Stakeholder-focused resources
- Public communication activities
This helps ensure that important findings reach audiences beyond the academic community.
Exploring OSIRIS Resources
The OSIRIS website hosts a growing collection of resources developed throughout the project. Among the highlights are the recently published 10 Tales of Reproducibility, which showcase inspiring examples and initiatives that contribute to more reproducible research.
Visitors can also access:
- Project publications
- Policy briefs
- News articles
- Communication materials
- Public deliverables
These resources provide insights into both the project’s findings and the methods used to generate them.
Sharing More Than Results
One particularly distinctive aspect of OSIRIS is its commitment to openness and transparency. In addition to sharing project outputs, the consortium has made several project management and communication resources publicly available.
These include:
- Dissemination and Communication Plans
- Updated communication strategies
- Public project documentation
- The full Horizon Europe project proposal
By making these materials accessible on the OSIRIS website in its Media center and on Open Science Framework (OSF), a free and open-source project management tool, to develop, collaborate on, document, share and disseminate all our protocols, study materials and methodology documents. OSIRIS aims to support other researchers and organisations interested in developing similar initiatives and preparing future research proposals.
“By openly sharing our experiences, tools, and project materials, we hope to support other researchers in developing successful projects and securing funding for their own research ideas.” – Hynek Roubík
Looking Ahead
As the project enters its final phase, Work Package 6 will continue to play a key role in communicating findings and supporting stakeholder engagement.
Upcoming activities include:
- Dissemination of project recommendations
- Communication of final project results
- Promotion of tools and resources developed by OSIRIS
- Support for the project’s final symposium
Together, these activities will help ensure that the project’s findings continue to have an impact beyond the project’s lifetime.
About the Catch Up with the OSIRIS Work Package Leads Series
Recorded during the OSIRIS General Assembly in London, this interview series highlights the achievements, outputs, and future plans of the teams driving the OSIRIS project. As the consortium prepares for its final symposium, The Legacy of OSIRIS: Open Science for Reproducible Research, taking place on 5–6 October 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic, the series offers an opportunity to reflect on progress and explore how project results are contributing to a more transparent and reproducible research ecosystem.
Stay Connected
The OSIRIS website and social media channels remain the best places to stay informed about new publications, events, resources, and opportunities to engage with the project.
We invite researchers, institutions, publishers, funders, and policymakers to explore the available materials and follow the project’s progress as it moves toward its final phase.
Subscribe to the OSIRIS newsletter, follow the project on social media, and visit the website to discover the latest developments.
