As the OSIRIS project approaches the end of its journey, its partners and key stakeholders will come together in Prague for the final symposium, “The Legacy of OSIRIS: Open Science for Reproducible Research,” taking place from 5–7 October 2026.

The symposium will mark an important milestone for OSIRIS – Open Science to Increase Reproducibility in Science, bringing together representatives from across the research ecosystem to reflect on what the project has achieved and, importantly, how its results can continue to shape research practice beyond the project’s lifetime.

Over the past years, OSIRIS has investigated the drivers and barriers affecting research reproducibility, assessed the evidence behind different interventions, co-created practical tools to support reproducible research design and reporting, and tested approaches aimed at strengthening transparency and reliability in science.

The final symposium will bring together researchers, universities and university networks, research funders, publishers, reproducibility networks, policymakers and civil society organisations. This diverse group of stakeholders will examine how OSIRIS findings, tools, and recommendations can be translated into lasting change across the research ecosystem.

During the symposium, the OSIRIS consortium will present key project findings, outcomes and developed tools. These will be followed by interactive stakeholder discussions exploring how the project’s outputs can be adopted and implemented in practice, what barriers may limit their uptake, and what further steps are needed to align research processes, incentives, institutional strategies and policies with the principles of transparent and reproducible science.

The discussions will also provide valuable input for the final refinement of OSIRIS tools and policy recommendations, helping ensure that the project leaves behind a practical and relevant legacy for the wider research community.

Following the OSIRIS legacy beyond Prague

While the symposium is an invite-only event, the wider community will still be able to follow key moments and insights from Prague.

We will be sharing live coverage and highlights on X (HERE) throughout the symposium, including key messages, discussions and reflections from participating stakeholders.

Following the event, we will also publish further updates presenting the main outcomes, insights and takeaways from the final symposium — and reflecting on what comes next for the legacy of OSIRIS.
