Reproducibility is at the heart of scientific progress, ensuring the credibility and reliability of research outcomes. It plays a crucial role in confirming or correcting study results, ultimately leading to higher-quality research, more dependable outcomes, and a reduction in research costs. The OSIRIS (Open Science to Increase Reproducibility in Science) project, an EU-funded initiative, continues to make strides in this area, exploring the factors that drive reproducibility in research.

Speaker Spotlight: Nicholas J. DeVito, MPH, DPhil

The upcoming event, organised by Consilium Scientific, will feature Nicholas J. DeVito, a key contributor to the OSIRIS Consortium and a postgraduate researcher at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. Nick leads the research integrity efforts at the Bennett Institute for Applied Data Science, overseeing projects like TrialsTracker. His work focuses on understanding how governments and institutions can promote more rigorous, transparent, and reproducible research. Nick also receives funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) for his metascience work and contributes to the OpenSAFELY project at the Bennett Institute.

About the Event:

On Thursday, July 24th at 5:00 PM London Time, Consilium Scientific will host a session exploring OSIRIS’s contributions to reproducibility in research. The event will dive into the challenges and solutions to improving reproducibility in scientific studies, examining what the OSIRIS Consortium has discovered to date and the evidence being generated to enhance reproducibility across different research contexts.
